As the weather begins to cool, cozy up with this Apple Cider Manhattan recipe that combines rye whiskey and apple cider with the warm baking spices and honeyed sweetness of our Vya Sweet Vermouth. Garnish with crisp apple slices or zesty orange for a cocktail that’s sure to be a new fall favorite.
1½ oz. rye whiskey of choice
¾ oz. Vya Sweet Vermouth
½ oz. Fernet-Branca® Liqueur
1 tsp. brown sugar syrup*
1 oz. apple cider
Garnish: apple or orange slices and brandied cherries
1. Fill a tall glass with ice.
2. Combine Vya Sweet Vermouth, Fernet-Branca, rye whiskey, brown sugar syrup, and apple cider in the glass with ice. Stir well. Strain into a coupe.
3. Garnish with apple or orange slice.
*To make brown sugar syrup:
Combine 1 cup of water and 1 cup of brown sugar in a small saucepan. Heat until the mixture is simmering. Cook for 2-3 minutes, stirring frequently, or until all the sugar is dissolved in the water. Cool to room temperature. Store in an airtight container in the fridge.
